Men’s Ministry

Hall of Men: Connected to the Past to Live in the Gospel Faithfully Today

In today's post-everything society, modern men find themselves constantly bombarded by screens and messages, leading to a sense of disconnection and isolation. Our culture glorifies radical individualism, pushing men further away from meaningful, deep, and spiritual connections with one another. Moreover, the relentless demands of busy work schedules only serve to intensify this isolation, leaving many feeling adrift in a sea of digital noise.

We know that remaining grounded in the faith and living in pursuit of Christ is becoming more and more difficult.

As we men navigate this complex landscape, we can find an anchor and foundation in the turbulent tides of the radical and polarized world by searching the past to find worthy examples in the heroes of our faith that have come before us.

At Hall of Men the men of Christ The Redeemer gather together in fellowship to share a pint and to learn about Christian men who have come before us, held to the faith in their time, and finished the race set before them committed to Jesus Christ. We look to the past to give us courage and wisdom for our own time - that we might finish our race and reach the goal of faith, Jesus Christ.

A note about alcohol.

The Scriptures are clear. We know that excessive drink “bites like a serpent and stings like an adder” (Proverbs 23:35). We know that too much drink can “lead astray” (Proverbs 20:1). Paul lists drunkenness among some of the most grievous and vile sins (Romans 13:13; 1 Corinthians 6:10; Galatians 5:21). Paul also tells us in Ephesians 5 that drunkenness leads to debauchery (Ephesians 5:18). Peter commands the church to be “sober-minded” in order to avoid the devil’s attack (1 Peter 5:8).

Therefore, we in no way promote, condone, or support the abuse of alcohol. If you have a history of struggle with alcoholism, please note that alcohol is shared at this event.

Man Camp

Every August, the men of Christ The Redeemer venture into the Idahoan wilderness for a three day, two night tent camping trip.

We eat great food. We explore and experience the outdoors. We gather around the fire. We dive into the Word together with a keynote speaker. We bond together, grow in our faith, and return refreshed and ready for the challenges that we face today.

This year we will be camping August 9-11 at 730 Warm Lake Rd., Cascade. If you are interested in joining, let Jay Snyder know at jaytsnyder79@gmail.com.
